Get to know Zack Walden
Zack’s decision to run for Criminal Court is rooted in his commitment to serve our community. Raised to be hard working and leadership focused, Zack has worked throughout his career representing victims of abuse, defendants, and law enforcement officers.
A conservative, Zack is the former Campbell County Republican Party Chairman, stepping down from the position to seek the open Criminal Court Judgeship.
While he was still in law school, Zack served on the managing board of the Law Review and advocated for victims of domestic violence. He served as President of the Christian Legal Society and served as acting Assistant District Attorney in the 8th Judicial District.
He is a member of the music ministry at Covenant Life Church and has played piano in church for 18 years.
In 2010, Walden was appointed by the Governor to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
In his legal career, Zack has developed significant trial experience in both state and federal court while representing clients in complex criminal litigation.
Zack plans to continue the strong work of Judge Sexton through the Recovery Court while expanding the court to include a felony-level Veterans Treatment Court, ensuring those who have served receive special focus on rehabilitation and fighting addiction.
For over 10 generations, the Walden Family has called Campbell County home.
Zack volunteers as a TNAchieves mentor to students at Campbell County High School since 2017. He was a recipient of the KBA Barristers President’s Award, being recognized for his outstanding commitment to civics education in our schools and was also a recipient of the TBA Young Lawyers President’s Award being recognized for his Leadership of the Tennessee High School Mock Trial program.
This August, we need conservative Zack Walden to be elected Criminal Court Judge.
